How to search

There are six scenarios to get great ideas out of nature.

The six scenarios are based on the Concept-Knowledge theory.

Please select the most familiar pattern in scenarios first, then use others iteratively.

We recommend using search scenarios in combination.

Scenario Search provides the following six scenarios

  1. Function-based Search

    1. It can be used to start a search from the concept of desired function or product-system to be developed.
    2. It can be also used when you have very similar concepts of already existing products or systems.
    3. It is necessary to enter the definition of the function that the product or the system should satisfy.
  2. Input/Output-oriented Search (Currently unavailable)

    1. It can be used when you cannot define the function yet, but there is a clear concept of the first input or final output of the product-system to be developed.
    2. Be sure to enter at least one expected input or output of the desired system.
  3. Visual Search (Currently unavailable)

    1. It can be used when the concept of morphological feature is clear compared to the specific mechanism of the desired product-system.
    2. It can be used to infer function from the morphological features.
  4. Product-based Search

    1. It can be used when it is possible to find a metaphor in the biological organisms suitable for inferring the function of the product-system to be developed.
    2. Users are required to have satisfactory level of biological knowledge sufficient to figure out appropriate metaphor.
    3. It is necessary to enter the name of entity or the name of the biological organism.
  5. State Change based Search (Currently unavailable)

    1. It can be used when it is possible to explain in detail the state change of the mechanism that can be used to implement the desired product-system.
    2. Users are required to describe the phase change in the direction to the expected post-state from the pre-state before the mechanism is driven.
    3. Be sure to enter at least one pre-state or an expected post-state.
  6. Physical Phenomena based Search (Currently unavailable)

    1. It can be used when it is possible to specifically describe physicochemical phenomena or biological phenomena that can be used to implement the product-system to be developed.
    2. Users are required to have sufficient science knowledge to use appropriate physicochemical jargons.
    3. Be sure to enter at least one jargon.
